…I actually have second hand embarrassment for the writers? It’s so clear what they wanted to do and it’s also so clear how short they fell of that goal. It was arrogant and sloppy writing and it’s embarrassing.

The full ten minutes of exposition at the beginning was sloppy; the easy explanations of memory rewriting and reprogramming with no detail on HOW or any reaction from Sherlock about his brain being fucking tampered with were sloppy; having a big emotional scene with Molly when she’s barely been in the series and has thus been allowed no character development was sloppy; the integration of Moriarty for shock value and literally nothing else was sloppy; the attempt to make some grand statement about sherlock being a product of a past hidden even from him was sloppy; the attempt to retroactively add a bigger meaning to previous moments of very nice writing was sloppy.

It was all so sloppy and even occasionally poorly shot and acted like I’m genuinely confused by how poor the standard was??????
